“90% of fights go to the ground? Really?!?”
The first time our co-founder, Dr. Conrad Bui, heard that claim was in the mid ‘90s and, by that time, he was already an accomplished martial artist, having earned a 5th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and American Freestyle Karate.
He was also an instructor (guru) in Silat and (a sifu) in Kuntao and in Kung Fu (Ba Gua Zhang). He had the credentials.
He was also a former bar bouncer. And as a bar bouncer …
“He Saw Plenty of Fights that Ended up on the Barroom Floor”
Maybe not 90% as marketed, but plenty did. Conrad had some wrestling experience in middle school but he knew he was lacking in the grappling department … severely lacking.
And truth be told …
“He was CLUELESS in Ground Fighting.”
So, he put on a brand spanking new white belt and joined his first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) class back in 2008.
With a street-fighter’s point of view, he studied hard and had his ups — like winning multiple gold medals at major BJJ tournaments, and eventually earning the coveted BJJ black belt from a bona-fide world class BJJ champion and professional Bellator MMA fighter, Diego Herzog …
… and he had his downs — years spent in the gym, thousands of dollars in lessons, dislocated fingers, shoulder, back and neck injuries, and a blown meniscus in his right knee. But regardless …
“Mission Accomplished!”
After his 13-year trial by fire, Conrad can honestly say that you do NOT need to spend a decade getting your black belt in BJJ, spend thousands of dollars, and suffer excruciating injuries to be effective in a street-fight.
You simply need to have the knowledge of what is important to train for street-fighting scenarios.
You see, about 90% of what he learned in BJJ was great in the gym and for competition but … he would NEVER use it in a street fight or in self-defense.
That means that….
“You only need the 10% to be Effective!”
But what 10%?
That’s where our new “Antigrappling”™ course fills the void.
He has stripped down over a decade of BJJ training to bring you the meat and potatoes, the nuts and bolts of street grappling.
In short, if you want to avoid grappling (because it limits your awareness and mobility) or you simply hate grappling, this is for you!
Here’s a Glimpse of What You Will Learn in Our New 20-Part Program, “Antigrappling: Takedown Defense & Survival”™ …
- Learn why, on the streets, a BJJ Black belt doesn’t want to grapple on the ground.
- Prevention is the BEST medicine by learning the Laws of Stupid and the Tiga Tactics 3-Stage Mindset.
- Discover the “three simple concepts to stuff any takedown.” That’s right, just three concepts to remember and you will be harder to take down than last year’s Christmas tree.
- Drills for Skills: So just how can we drill takedown defense in a safe and effective way? Heck we make it FUN and provide you with a great workout to boot!
- The Truth About Takedown Defense: Like anything, they take work and guess what, if you are up against a high school or college wrestler … well, you’re most likely going to hit the deck, so it is to everyone’s benefit to learn how to fall properly.
- Life Skill: Like swimming or working a computer, learning to fall safely should be a life skill that everyone learns. This subject is something you want to share with your family (especially your kids) because it can prevent broken bones and concussions.
